The island of Kaprije is located just an hour from Šibenik in the Šibenik archipelago. This picturesque island covered with pine forest has a total area of only 7 km2, and the only settlement on the island has the same name - Kaprije. The name of the island comes from a very popular Mediterranean spice - capers, which was once present on the entire island. The highest peak of the island is the 129-meter-high Velika Glavica peak. What makes the island special is that it is forbidden to drive cars.Kaprije has about 20 attractive bays, and the best beaches on the island are Luka Sveti Petar or Luka Kaprije near the village of Kaprije, Mala Nozdra bay and Velika Nozdra bay. Walk around the island and enjoy the beautiful surroundings of capers, grapes and olive groves.
